Infographic
Infogram
This is an easy platform to make simple infographics. It can be costly. There are different subscriptions
depending on how advanced you want your infographic to be or what you want to do with it.
I was not able to download the infographic that I made unless I upgraded to a paid membership. Though
this one is a bit more expensive than others, it is more user friendly. Templates are easily editableditable.
There is still a lot that can be done without upgrading your membership; however, it all seems useless
if you cannot download it.
Piktochart
This platform will allow you to create 5 visuals, 2 downloads, and 20 minutes of video for free. If you need
anything more than this, you will have to upgrade your membership and pay yearly. It has many different
templates depending on the work you are trying to create. If you go into the infographic tab, you can start
a blank one or choose from numerous templates that are editable. I tried editing a template on this
website, and it was very user friendly. If you use this website a lot, another benefit is that it allows you to
create folders and keep your work organized inside each folder you create.
Easel.ly
This platform does not offer as many free templates. If you want access to more templates, you have to
upgrade your service. However these prices are very reasonable especially compared to Infogram. Their
prices start as low as $2 a month where Infogram starts at $25/month. Piktochart is $14 a month. It also
does not offer as many backgrounds or graphics. In order to get past the basics, you would definitely
have to upgrade. For example, it offers four free photos to choose from, but if you upgrade, you can get up
to 3 million images. It is also not as user friendly in my opinion. I could never figure out how to make
graphs or pie charts with this website. It may be easier once you download and have more options.

Your infographic is very easy to decipher and very clean looking. I am surprised at the amount of kids prefer learning in person and not online. To me, I would think students would prefer to have their computer in front of them. But it does take a good amount of self discipline and motivation.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading through your infographic, mainly because, as an educator, I feel this has been such a hot topic in the last couple years.
ReplyDeleteBased on my personal school's data, I was not terribly surprised by the number of students who preferred in-person instruction. On your pie chart depicting this data, I appreciate the fact that you included the percentages to better help me understand what each slice was representing. Of course, my curious nature wants to interview the students who said "unsure" and find out more about their thinking!
The graph I loved the most was the stacked bar graph comparing parents' and students' satisfaction levels. First, I was immediately drawn in by the colors and the fact that it looks like a stoplight. Second, having the percentages and the thumbs up / thumbs down helped with reading the graphic and added to its visual appeal. Finally, placing the graphs side-by-side allowed me to very clearly compare the feelings of parents with the feelings of students. Great job!
Hi Ashley! I really like your infographic! It's so easy to read. I think as educators, we're still trying to fix the gaps created by virtual learning. I can see why so many students prefer face-to-face instruction. Plus, you have to factor in the social side of it. I appreciate the way you designed the data presented. It was easy to understand as well. Thanks so much for sharing, Ashley!
ReplyDeleteHello! I also thought that Easelly was going to be user-friendly until I started noticing how limited the free features were. I had an idea of what I wanted once I read my article and I could not seem to find a template to use. I ended up using the Piktochart and that was a good learning experience for me. I agree that Easelly seemed to be the more economical one, but I think if one was to use infographics pretty often, it may be worth spending a little extra.
