Final Reflection

Digital Tools in the Classroom

Final Reflection

Growth, Differentiated Learning, Technology...all buzz words when it comes to education.  As an educator, we are always facing a time crunch.  Therefore, as a librarian, we must take this burden off of our colleagues and learn new digital tools to share with them.  Our job is often relevant to students, but this is how we can serve teachers.

I have learned many new digital resources this summer.  Some I am more comfortable with than others.  My goal is to share these with the educators at my school so that we can make sure to hit the standards of Universal Design Learning (UDL).  Please see my end of the semester reflection.  I used Story Jumper which is extremely user friendly and fun to try.  I highly recommend this tool even if you are a newbie.  Trust me, you will be able to figure it out.

Two things that I feel will definitely help me moving forward besides these digital tools:  Searching creative commons on google and how to embed websites on a blog.  Wow.  If you do not know how to do this, let me teach you. Search Creative Commons:1. Type what you are looking for in the search bar2. Click Images3. Click Tools4. Click Usage Rights5. Click Creative Commons Licenses
Embed a Website in Blogger:1. Click the top left button that looks like a pencil2. Click HTML view3. Paste the embed code from the website4. Go back to Compose View
Voila!!  It's as simple as that.
