High School Book Trailer Competition
Planning
Meet with teachers during planning time to introduce the contest
Plan for them to bring their classes to the library/set schedule
Plan specific days/times students can visit the library during lunch or after school to learn how to do the project or use the library’s computers
Ask local fast food restaurants or PTO for donations for prizes
Send out a google form to teachers to see if anyone would want to be on the judging committee.
Set a due date for the competition

Create lesson on how to make a book trailer using Animoto
Collect prizes
Form a judging committee
Set schedule
Ask the school news to broadcast information on the contest to help spread the word
Post fliers around the school
Procedures:
Each participating class will come to the library during their English classes. If teachers do not want their classes to come to the library, students can come by the library to pick up directions.
Librarian will give a short lesson on how to use Animoto for book trailer
Librarian will share the criteria that students will be judged on.
The librarian will show her example and one that is a bit more professional. Students will have time to start making their book trailer and ask any questions.
Librarian will watch all the videos and narrow it down to the top 10.
Librarian will meet with the judges to inform them of criteria.
The committee will vote on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place choices.
